Matt Holthe's Fleeting Thoughts

There's a forecast of a lot of snow over the next couple of days. It's supposed to start tonight, with a couple inches of snow overnight. It's supposed to snow throughout the day tomorrow, with up to six more inches in the forecast. The snow is supposed to get even heavier tomorrow night. All told, it could be up to a foot and a half of snow by the time it's all over Wednesday, and then it's supposed to turn cold and get windy - just the kind of thing you want after a bunch of snow. Hopefully it's not as bad as they are calling, but I guess it's better to prepare for the worst and be surprised by less than to be surprised by more.... And, further south (southern Illinois) they are calling for up to an inch of ice before it starts snowing - that's going to be a big mess. I guess getting all that would be worse than the snow we're supposed to get.

Between myself, my wife, and my 19-month-old daughter, I don't think the three of us have all been healthy at the same time since last September. My daughter is almost over the cold she's had for a couple weeks, my wife has a full-body rash that's finally starting to get better, and I came back from New York last week with a cold.

I haven't been on an airplane since December 4 - that's 32 days and counting. Next Monday I finally get back on the road with a trip to Omaha, NE. The following week I'm going to New York City. So I'll finally be getting back on the road and (now that it's a new year) trying to get enough American segments and Hilton nights to keep my status for 2012.
