Matt Holthe's Fleeting Thoughts

My wife, daughter, and I were all in Houston, TX, for the last few days. We went to the Children's museum twice, the zoo, a bouncy-house place called Pump It Up, and did lots of other fun stuff. After we returned home, we built our daughter's new bed and headboard. After doing all that, I can honestly say that I don't remember when I was this sore last. All this playing and running around and crawling and everything was rough on my body. But my daughter had a blast on vacation and absolutely loves her new bed.

This college basketball season, I have been picking 1 and only 1 game every single day. This started on November 7, 2011. There are a few days when there haven't been any games (Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas being examples). As of February 16, I was 57.7% at 56-41-1. When I pick the favorite, I am 20-17-1 (53.9%). When picking the underdog, I am 36-24 (60%). Picking 1 game a day wouldn't be enough to make a career out of handicapping, but the overall 57.7% is enough to at least think about the possibility. If I had actually been doing this in Las Vegas and betting $200 every game, I would be $1744.80 ahead. Certainly not enough to make a living, though.
