Thanksgiving Week
Janet and I are moving from Colorado to Illinois so she can take a new job starting in early December. Given that I am pretty well constantly on the road, the only week we can do the move is Thanksgiving week. And it won't even be a full move at that - it will be into an apartment which we will use for a few months while we find a home.
Here is my schedule for that week of Thanksgiving...
Friday, November 20 - happy hour after work to say good bye to my Colorado friends.
Saturday, November 21 - pick up a friend at the Denver airport who is coming to help out. Get a rental truck that can tow a car. Do a little bit of loading of the truck, but not too much.
Sunday, November 22 - continue loading the truck. We will be bringing all of Sabrina's stuff, a couple of bedroom's worth of furniture, and some essentials for Janet and I. 99% of what we're bringing will be in the truck.
Monday, November 23 - pack up the last few things in the truck and drive 977 miles from Longmont, CO to Bloomington, IL. Given that this will take 12-13 hours and we lose an hour going from Mountain to Central time, we won't do anything else.
Tuesday, November 24 - unload the truck and get it returned. Start to put things away in the new apartment.
Wednesday, November 25 - continue to straighten out the apartment (set up Sabrina's crib, for example)
Thursday, November 26 - drive 162 miles from Bloomington, IL to St Louis, MO. Pick Janet and Sabrina up from the St Louis airport. Stay overnight at the Hilton at the airport.
Friday, November 27 - Janet and Sabrina drive up to Bloomington. I take a flight back out to Denver. Drive back to the old house and do a few things to prepare the cats for the move (like litter boxes and stuff). There will also be a few things like doing a final load of dishes (and packing them) and stuff like that.
Saturday, November 28 - drive the same 977 miles, but this time in my car with the two cats along for the ride. This time the drive should be slightly shorter than the previous drive, but it will still take quite a while.
Sunday, November 29 - try to relax a bit if possible before leaving for my next trip on Monday the 30th.
Exciting Thanksgiving plans, aren't they?
