My Vegas To Do List

I haven't been to Las Vegas in a while, and there's many new things that I'd like to see and do on my next trip there.

Secret Pizza restaurant at the Cosmopolitan. The last time I was in Vegas, the City Center was still under development. So, really, seeing the City Center is on my list.

Mr. Lucky's 24/7 restaurant at the Hard Rock for the $7.77 unadvertised steak special.

THE Steakhouse in Circus Circus. There's a food theme here, isn't there?

High Roller Wheel at the Linq (still under development - scheduled to open in December). I want to see what happened to O'Sheas. more information

Of course, there are the standby items that I'd like to revisit:

Sirens of TI
Fremont Street Experience
Fountains of Bellagio
Fall of Atlantis at Caesars Forum Shops

Finally Have Access Again

At some point last year, my work computer decided that all "blogger.com" web addresses were bad and must be blocked. So I was unable to update this blog from my work computer. I finally got a new personal computer so I'm able to update this site again.  Most of my updates are on March Madness trips. In 2024, I did not go anywhere for March Madness. On Thursday I went out to a local bar and on Friday I stayed at home and hosted some of my friends on my 4 TV setup in the basement.

2011 Second Quarter Travel Update

The second quarter of 2011 is in the books. Am I half way to keeping my Platinum American status and Diamond Hilton status? To maintain my Platinum status on American Airlines, I need to fly 60 segments or 50,000 miles. The miles will always be difficult to get since almost all my travel is inside the United States. So far this year I have 24,340 miles (48.7% of the way there), but I have 38 segments (63.3% of the way there). So I'm looking good for Platinum status. For Hilton Diamond, I need 28 stays (a check-in/check-out at a hotel) or 60 nights to maintain my status. I haven't been able to stay exclusively at Hilton properties for every one of my trips (proximity to customer, lack of available hotels, etc). But I have managed 25 nights (41.7% of the way there) in 16 stays (57.1% of the way there). I'm looking all right based on number of stays to maintain my Hilton status. Recap of March Madness Trips through 2023

 I keep updating these posts every year as I take off work for the first couple days of the men's NCAA basketball tournament. We chose Iowa because we could be closer to home, we could meet some people there, and the state of Illinois has restrictions on betting in-state teams. If we stayed in Illinois, we couldn't bet on Northwestern or Illinois. We did discover that Iowa has restrictions on betting individual players, so we couldn't bet certain players to go over or under point totals, for example.
